A few Install ???

IS there a maximum height the installers will get up on the ladder to install the dish? The eave of my place is probably 20-22' up.

Also, I saw where someone mentioned they had wished they had run 2 cables to the box location. Is it required that 2 RG-6 cables come into the house for each box? I have Cox right now and I get all the HD and dual tuner Pvr functions through just the 1 cable. I'm confused here....

Best to check with the installer ahead of your appointment so they can bring the proper ladders and avoid surprises.

Standard installation should include two cables for each DVR, and multiswitches if required.

Hey Litz,

For the OP question (benefit), do you think that is included in the at no extra cost or do you think they will want to charge an extra fee. We've all heard different stories from different subs that come out.

Cable signals are different. You can split cable signals with regular cheap splitters. Sat signals (Dish or DirecTV) *cannot* be split in this way. You need a dedicated line for each tuner so if you have a DVR with 2 tuners then you need 2 lines. Typical install would be all 4 cables into the house and then runs to your receivers. Preferably have them put in the free multiswitch (think splitter), the 4 runs go to the switch and then you run cables from the switch to each tuner you have. That is a proper install.
They should not charge you to run 2 lines to each reciever, but they will run the wiring the easiset way they can, which can sometimes mean drilling from the outside of the house to inside the house and running the wires on the outside of your house.
So if I just have the HR20 to one tv, how many cables are coming into the house?

Will just one cable enter the house after the multiswitch?

I only ask this because I have to run the cable under the carpet for about 8ft (temporary until I move in March)
You should run 2 cables from the multiswitch for each DVR Reciever. So if you have 2 DVR's you would have 4 cables comming off the multiswitch.
You will need to contact your Installer and tell them it is a 2nd story install....mine was...so they can/will bring the proper ladder.
I had my own and was all ready for them when they arrived.
This was the easiest install they'd had in months.
I hope ALL goes well and Welcome to Sat TV.
