... if DIRECTV is going to demand an upgrade ...
Thank you for your concern. There is no need to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt. You are focusing on a big "IF".

Agreed. If we do anything along these lines it will likely be having them setup a second TV in the house and then porting it either by wire or a wireless bridge to the pool house afterwards.
I need to get a couple of DECA's and test my theory.

It isn't a big if. Subscribers typically can't get standalone (non-Genie) receivers replaced, much less added.

This is ridiculous. There would be absolutely no issue running a line to that location. Call Dtv back and escalate the issue. If you as a “friend” can get a line in there a tech can as well. Wireless would not work through all the walls most likely.

That makes even less sense than your usual posts.
It might seem that way if you didn't understand basic logic. Lazy<>incompetent (the aforementioned inequality).

It isn't fair/reasonable to assert that all incompetent people must be lazy. It isn't fair to assume that all lazy people are necessarily incompetent.

"Neither" is an appropriate answer to the question.

Of course it is possible to be both lazy and incompetent, but that's a different discussion.
