They are part of your locals which are included in all packages, unless locals are not carried by Direct in your area.akraven said:I've been trying to watch these channels.I got the premiere package. Is there a reason these channels aren't coming in?What package do you need for these?
What channel numbers are you referring to?akraven said:None of them come in.I guess I better call directv.Cause I tried to turn off my box and all.
All DirecTV customers get the same National HD channels.theratpatrol said:I grew up in Alaska. I'm curious, does AK get all the new HD channels that we get down here?
I take it theres a spot beam for AK and HI then. Cool thanks.RunnerFL said:All DirecTV customers get the same National HD channels.
Why wouldn't I get those? What channel do the ones I get then?If you know.Cause I haven't found them.RunnerFL said:What channel numbers are you referring to?
Better yet, what are the names for the channels?
If you are referring to:
CBSE
CBSW
NBCE
NBCW
ABCE
ABCW
FOXE
FOXW
You won't get those.
You should get the channels listed in DodgerKing's post earlier in this thread. Do you see an on-screen message when you try to tune those channels?akraven said:Why wouldn't I get those? What channel do the ones I get then?If you know.Cause I haven't found them.
Spot beams are for locals, conus is for Nationals.theratpatrol said:I take it theres a spot beam for AK and HI then. Cool thanks.
Those channels are for people who do not have locals and can get a waiver from the networks to watch them. There are very few people that get those channels.akraven said:Why wouldn't I get those? What channel do the ones I get then?If you know.Cause I haven't found them.
I know that. What I meant was because of AK and HI geographical location that the satellites have "spacial coverage beams" that serve both of them.RunnerFL said:Spot beams are for locals, conus is for Nationals.
Spot beams are for local nbc, fox, abc, cbs, etc...
Conus are for espn, cnn, tnt, hdnet, etc...
I didn't think he would need 2 dishes to get locals though? Doesn't one dish cover 99/101/103 while the other dish covers 110/119? Since his locals are on 103 (I believe) he wouldn't need the 2nd dish?CCarncross said:The other issue here is akraven was questioning why he needed two dishes a few days ago if I recall when he was asking questions b4 install. I'd bet that the other didnt get put up but I could be way off here.
To the best of my knowledge they have their own spot beams just like everywhere else.theratpatrol said:I know that. What I meant was because of AK and HI geographical location that the satellites have "spacial coverage beams" that serve both of them.
