I've been trying to watch these channels.I got the premiere package.Is there a reason these channels aren't coming in?What package do you need for these?

They are part of your locals which are included in all packages, unless locals are not carried by Direct in your area.

You can put your zip in the link below to determine if Direct carries your locals. If not you may be able to get the LA DNS locals. Being in AK you may be out of the range of the signal.

Checking all Juneau zip codes, the website says you should be getting all locals as well as your local fox and pbs in HD.

If you are trying to view the West Coast or East Coast Big-4 feeds, then you will not be able to do so. If locals are available in your area, those are the ones that you can view.

Check the channel numbers 4, 5, 8 and 13

You won't get those.

All DirecTV customers get the same National HD channels.

You should get the channels listed in DodgerKing's post earlier in this thread. Do you see an on-screen message when you try to tune those channels?

Also, what type of dish do you have? Who installed your equipment?

Spot beams are for locals, conus is for Nationals.

Spot beams are for local nbc, fox, abc, cbs, etc...

Conus are for espn, cnn, tnt, hdnet, etc...

Those channels are for people who do not have locals and can get a waiver from the networks to watch them. There are very few people that get those channels.

LitzDog is right, the locals you get were already posted for you in this thread.

The other issue here is akraven was questioning why he needed two dishes a few days ago if I recall when he was asking questions b4 install. I'd bet that the other didnt get put up but I could be way off here.

I didn't think he would need 2 dishes to get locals though? Doesn't one dish cover 99/101/103 while the other dish covers 110/119? Since his locals are on 103 (I believe) he wouldn't need the 2nd dish?

Thanks for all the feedback.I'm at work,but will check it out when I get done.I remember that AK couldn't get the ABC east and what not unless you had your dish at a certain time back in the 90's.As for the dish.I only need one.But it's about 80 pounds.It's about 4 feet tall.And we can't use standard boxes.Have to use the HD boxes.
AP&T installed my dish.They are the ones that work with Directv.I talked to another company in town and they wanted 3 to 5 hundred dollars for install.

To the best of my knowledge they have their own spot beams just like everywhere else.

The only spot beam map I can find is old, from back before the HD days, but even back then they had their own spot beams.
