This morning, I tuned into GMA on WPVI in Philadelphia, and total pixelation (both HR20 and H20). Still doing it at 10 am. Anyone else seeing this? Hope it's a long time before they disconnect MPEG2 feeds from NYC, or Directv MPEG4 locals will be unwatchable (video, audo, 8mm effect on NBC feed). If that happens and MPEG4 feeds are not cleaned up, I will have no choice but to look for a new provider (FIOS?).

Cleveland locals were that over the weekend. As of Monday everything was fine and even our 8mm problem on the CBS feed has been corrected. Maybe this means they are working on updating the encoding there in Philly?!!

Thanks. One can only hope. I called D* Advanced Tech support, and had no idea about it. Guy said he would report it. Ugh.

Now working. Must have been some type of equipment failure.

Anyone in Philly notice that not only does ABC MPEG4 feed seem to be better (not as many glitchy stuff, like pixelation and sound dropouts), but the 8mm effect appears to be gone on NBC (it had already disappeared from CBS a couple of weeks ago).

Have to give D* credit on this one, as long as the MPEG4 feeds stay solid. It's a major step forward in using MPEG2 (and not relying on MPEG2 for recording/viewing).
