Our HR20-700 has finally gone to meet it's maker, and a replacement is being sent, as we speak, by DTV.

Now, the question... Can I plug a USB WIFI dongle into the USB slot, and by doing that, hook the DVR up to my wireless network?

It sure would be nice!

No the USB does not support that but you can get an ethernet adapter AKA Cinema connection kit from DTV online self install for around $30.

While it may sound like a good idea for ease on the users end, imagine the drivers that would have to be built-in to support every POS wi-fi dongle out there, Remeber its not like windows where you can download/install drivers for a specific usb wi-fi adapter.

You need an ethernet-based wireless gaming adapter. DirecTV's Wireless Cinema Connection is a great deal at $30.

Is the website including professional installation? You may need to call and talk to someone to get the self-install option.
