Accessing H20 video files

I've tried looking all over this forum for a discussion on how to access the video files stored on the H20.
My current setup: Cable modem with Fixed IP address for internet access and work; a mixed wireless/ethernet LAN that ties together 3 computers, an Apple TV and a Play Station 2; a HDMI switch that ties my 42" HP HD LCD TV to a DVD player/recorder, the Apple TV and the H20-700 DVR.

All I'm looking to do is be able to use FTP/SFTP or terminal access via SSH to the H20. It would seem that all I need is a username/password combination to get into it. Anyone know what they might be

I am assuming you are referring to the HR20-700

There is no current way to access those files. There is development of a Windows client software to be able to stream these files/programs to a PC, but no means of extracting those files.
Thanks for your reply, yes I did mean the HR20-700, old fingers and eyes. It's a shame, with the limited space on the drive it would be nice to be able to move some of the video such as the Olympics VOD files over to my high capacity network drive. It's kind of tedious recording to my DVD recorder when it would be a lot simpler to compile the files with a video editor then burn all at once on a DVD. Using NBC and Microsoft's Silver light player on Vista really sucks as an alternate solution.
If storage capacity is the primary issue, an external eSata drive is probably the best answer.

If archival external to the HR20 is the goal, the only option is in SD via live video capture as you play the program.

The recordings are encrypted in a manner that is tied to both the unit and the access card. There is no way to extract them, or to move the drive elsewhere and access them.
