I was wondering, and perhaps this isn;t in the right thread, how many folks actually use the Active channel. Did you setup your zip code? How often do you use it? I looked at it yesterday for the first time since I got my HR21-200 and realized I don't ever use it. The weather seems like something I can use but I wonder if others can not get adequate weather information for it since their zip code isn't in the database. Please let me know what your thoughts are on Active; tell me the good and the bad, please!

I find the Active Channel slow and useless - I don't use it. I can get the same (well, better) info much quicker with the computer.
Every once in a while on a Saturday afternoon, I'll use the "what's hot" to pick out which football game to watch. Otherwise, don't use it at all, and wouldn't miss it if they eliminated all the active content.

I use it about once every 6 months. Not really enough content there to keep me coming back, and the load time is very slow.
I never use it. Way too slow and the content is useless.
I wanted to use it, and love the idea behind it. But, as others have said, it is just way too slow to bother. Even if it wasnt, though, there is a lot of noisy and annoying advertising, and it takes two slow clicks to get to the weather page, which is what I thought was the primary purpose. It's just a wasted feature - it's faster to wake the laptop out of sleep and visit the weather channel page.

I do use it to check weather from the bedroom. That's about it.
Don't use it but have tried it. I stare at a 7 day weather applet all day on my desktop at work. So the weather has little use, and like others have said, it's far too slow.

I had it once but never used it so I removed the button.
I usually check the weather on my laptop.

Same here. Too slow. I can get up and check the national weather service AND Weatherbug on the pc before it comes up, and those are current readings. I have no use for anything else on the active channel.
Pretty much agree with everyone else. There's usually a computer on somewhere in the house... I can go to it and pull up weather.com and get a lot more info a lot faster. Waste of a dedicated button on the remote.
I have used it a total of about 5 times and that was mainly just playing around with it. The last time I used it was months ago. It is just way to slow for me. If it was faster I would probably use it once in a while.
I don't use it. As others have said it's too slow. It's faster to walk to the computer and pull it up online.
Besides, a local sub-channel broadcasts weather info 24/7 here.
