If it's an older, owned receiver, you'll have to pay to upgrade. If you had the protection plan, and your old receiver died (i.e., power cycling), you would get a "free" upgrade under the PP.GopherIce said:OK, thanks. Any idea on whether or not Directv would 'upgrade' an older standard receiver for a newer one?
You might want to email Directv ask them to check see if your account is eligible for a free equipment upgrade.GopherIce said:OK, thanks. Any idea on whether or not Directv would 'upgrade' an older standard receiver for a newer one?
I don't know if I would be eligible because I just received an upgrade and replaced one of my standard receivers with a DVR. But it does not hurt to ask...LMckin said:You might want to email Directv ask them to check see if your account is eligible for a free equipment upgrade.
