I currently have the Slimline dish up on my roof. It has two coax connections coming down the side of my house and to a grounding station, where the two wires then enter the house at separate places.

My question is, if I want to wire up a third room, where does the connection originate? Does it come from up inside the arm of the slimline, underneath the LNBs? Do I need to take the arm apart and that's where the multi-switch is? I am just not sure ...

Anyone have that knowledge they could share with me?

There are two small bolts that attach the LNB assembly to the arm. You need to remove those two bolts and carefully slide the LNB assy forward, you will see two vacant F connectors. This is where you attach the coax for the additional receiver. (I would add both coaxes even if only one is needed). slide the LNB assy into position and secure with the two bolts.

Check your signal strength readings on all satellites before and after you add the coax. If there is any significant change afterward, then the dish will need realignment. Be gentle when removing the LNB and adding the coax and there will be no need for realignment.

As eakes said, the connectors are on the LNB Assembly (the part at the end of the arm that has the white caps).

Alrighty. That's pretty much what I thought and I believed I was on the right track, even though I couldn't see what was inside that arm. Thank you for confirming this.

I was on the roof today looking at the dish, the arm and the LNBs. I did see the two silver screws that hold the LNBs and the arm together so I know just where you are talking about. I will absolutely go easy and be careful whenever I decide to take on this task.

It might be a good idea to carry a 1/2" wrench to make sure everything is nice and snug.

Better yet, carry a 7/16" open-end wrench, because that's the size that RG59/RG6 lugs are.
