Receiver is on the basement level, want to control it from the top level, 2nd floor. So 2 stories up. I CAN control it from up here but hafta have the remote in a certain spot. I'd like to get more coverage.
Figure out a way to get one of the remote antennas up on the top level as well. (yes it can be done). Use some coax cable - you might even be able to use the same coax for both purposes.
you could try replacing the UHF antenna with a set top antenna like you would use to pic up off-air locals. works pretty well for me. the other option is to use a regular two way splitter, run a cable from the remote antenna port and from tv set out to the double side of the splitter, and hook the cable that is currently in tv set out onto the single side. Then, take the cable that currently goes into the back of your tv upstairs, hook it into the single side of a second splitter, run one of the connections on the double side into the tv and screw the antenna that is currently on "remote antenna" onto the other connection on the splitter. If that doesn't make sense, i'll diagram it for you
