I live in Sugar Land, Texas and the hurricane just blew through. Our electricity just came back online but all my receivers say searching for signal. I went up on the roof and the dish seemd undisturbed. nice and solid. I'm 99% sure it didn't move. Is my dish fried or maybe just needs to dry out?

I forgot to mention that it's cloudy, but not that bad. I have had a perfect signal in much worse cloud cover

Sounds like it has moved. Glad you got your power back, many people will be without for weeks.
you can always check with Dishpointer.com and a good mapping compass (one with degree marking around the outside)

Most important....glad to hear YOU and your family are OK.

First guess is that the Dish got whacked out of alignment.

Bringing everything back up may be something that requires checking all connections on all ends. With that much wind and rain....connectors could have come apart, cable slightly undone, or other such item.

You almost need to unplug everything, check all the connectors and cables at all ends, and then bring everything back up.

Check signal for 101 sat, mark current settings with magic marker on the dish.

Loosen the three bolts "slimeline/sidecar" or two bolts "phase3 standard" that hold the dish to the mast, loosen just enough to move dish freely left and right.

slowly move the dish each way from the mark watching sat signal for 101,when you get it at it's highest tighten the bolts and restart unit.:)

If you never get a signal you need more help.:(

Don't do this if it seems dangerous or is more than you handle. Be safe by all means .

Glad your OK!:)
