Alerts for programs not yet on the schedule

I have a VIP 722. Is there any way to set a program to record when it's not on the schedule yet (i.e. more than a week in advance)? If not, is there any way to set an alert to get notified by the Dish web site or any other web site when a particular program comes on to the schedule? There are certain movies I'd like to record, but I never know when they're coming up unless I happen to see them on the program guide.

You can define a "Dish Pass" timer with criteria to match and either let it search all channels, only HD channels, or a specific channel.

I have done this before if I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a movie if it ever came on and was tired of looking around all the time for it.
Thanks! I tried it and it looks like that will do exactly what I need. Two questions:

How does the matching work? If I want to record While You Were Sleeping I can only enter "While You Were Sl". Would it find it with an exact match? If I don't do an exact match, will I get Sleeping With The Enemy too?

How does it handle PPV? If a match appears on PPV will it record it and charge me?

Dish Pass will not mix up the recording by clicking 'EXACT MATCH'. Usually Dish pass can be set for a specific channel, unless that it a ppv one, there is no way it would select it or you could lock the ppv's in your system which would then require you entering your password before it would try to record a ppv.
As garys said, it will not automatically pay/schedule a PPV so no worries there. If you do the exact match, it does exactly match... so no worries there either.

I've actually wished sometimes it would do partials, but it is very particular. Reason why sometimes is because I once wanted to set a Dish Pass for the various Star Wars movies to make sure I didn't miss them. Problem is, the EPG was not consistent on how they were presented.

One month I noticed "The Empire Strikes Back", but another month it was "Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back"... and depending upon how you set up your Dish Pass keywords one would work while the other would not.

Most of the time this is not a problem, though... just every once in a while with a movie that has been re-titled after initial release or something like that.
