Yes source please? That would be great but I haven't heard anything concrete regarding our locals in HD, besides a couple of posts here.

That would be awesome, just in time for week three of the Steelers season. I just wonder, if this is correct, why D* never listed our DMA to get our HD locals with the mention of all the others coming this fall?

Thanks, HDTVFAN! I'm just hoping it's true because it makes my decision to drop ST/SF sooo much better

I happen to frequent King of Prussia regularly...so I do have some "love" for PA.

Not trying to throw salt on the party, but 9/15 is a Monday. It seems that DirecTV is doing this round of launches on Thursdays. I hope you're right though, because I would love that more than anything right about now.

Possibly, but I'd think that HD LIL's would be more of a contractual thing than a technical hurdle.

They've started up some things before on Mondays too...

I dropped by the local Verizon office today just to see if anyone heard anything. They hadn't but doesn't mean its not going to happen.

I talked to a pretty reliable guy around this forum the other day. And according to the info he had there is a tentative date for our HD locals near the end of August. Apparently D* is still finalizing some deals with stations and making sure the signal is clean. Sounds like good news for us.

I don't have a 72.5 dish, and for the past 3-4 months I've been seeing live SD TV on 3, 6, 8, and 23, not the correct locals (or locals for that matter), but I'm hoping that it's some kind of testing for "the move".

I emailed DirectTv and here is the reply. Does sound like they are definetly in negotiations and will be soon!!

Thanks for writing. We had hoped to be able to offer HD local channels in your area by now and I’m sorry that we haven’t been able to. We would love to provide HD locals for all DIRECTV customers but satellite capacity doesn’t allow us to do that yet. However, we continue to expand our HD capacity and hope to offer them in your area in the near future.

We're continuing to expand our HD capacity and hope to offer more HD channels in your area in the near future. However, we cannot comment on channels, national or local, that are in negotiations. We hope to be able to announce a new start date for HD local channels in Johnstown-Altoona, PA soon.
