I don't remember the exact time frame but that certainly qualifies as long enough to be a new customer.

a returing customer casue the account would still be created, i think. they would give you a winback offer depending on your account.

I changed for two years and was NOT considered a new customer when I came back. No free DVD player or free premium channels, but still got a great deal on a HD DVR, 99.00 if I remember correctly.

i'm sure each company has their own policies but Dish considered me a new customer when I went back with them last time. I bet if enough time has passed they would consider you new 1 more time, if you left and tried to come back again, probably not.

I was out for about that period of time and was considered a new customer.

IIRC, you have to have been gone for 3 years to be considered a new customer with DirecTV.
