I called DIRECTV today to order a C31 to replace the HR21 in my bedroom (I plan to wall mount it once the wall mounts are available) and they took the order but when I look at the details on my online account, I am afraid the installer is going to come without a C31, and be expecting a Samsung TV. Can anyone look at my order and say whether they think the CSR got it wrong? The CSR did mention that the C31 would be leased, so he seemed to think he was ordering a receiver for me.

Item Description Price Quantity Total
Home Media Center Additional TV Installation Free 1 Free
Home Media Center 1 $6.00 1 $6.00
Additional TV Free 1 Free
DIRECTV® Home Media Center Client Installation (TV) $49.00 1 $49.00
Sales Order Credit ($49.00) 1 ($49.00)
Additional Receiver Condition Free 1 Free
Tax $0.00
Order Total $0.00

Hard to know for sure, but you're not being charged for the C31, which leads me to believe there isn't one on the sales order. If it were on the sales order you'd see the charge, even if you saw another line item to zero it out.

Unless your in a test market the launch is tomorrow, which makes it less likely.

With the launch being tomorrow, they are already on tech's trucks in limited quantities. The order would be able to be modified if need be, the only question would be cost.

If the launch is tomorrow then I guess I will call back then to try to make sure it is set up properly. I assumed they were launched since they showed up on Solid Signal today. I have no idea if I am in a test market. Thanks for the info!

Shades228 You beat me to the punch.......

It looks like there is no hardware on that order = NO C31

Unless you are within the initial launch test market the system will not allow hardware it will allow connection to a Samsung Smart TV

I was assured as others, by CSR's and Equipment Specialists they could order but in the end they were mistaken.

With the Launch of the "Genie" (DirecTv's Bonus Savings Event) 10-11-2012
thru 12-5-2012, You would be better served to call back or check the website, perhaps tomorrow and see if it will let you order a C31.

Now that looks much better..

Good luck with your little genie client.
Thanks...I'm kinda disappointed to be losing dedicated tuners in the bedroom (I have an HR21 in there currently which I'm getting rid of), but I'm willing to trade that to have the C31 wall mounted behind the TV. I could have gotten an H25 but I didn't want to lose trick play.

When I decided to go with a few C31's I looked at the TV locations where I viewed Tv the least and positioned the Clients in those locations and I also added an H25 to the Master Bedroom replacing an R22. I tried to anticipate potential tuner/recording conflicts. I too, will wallmount the H25 behind the Samsung flat screen in the Master Bedroom. I like the size of the C31's and the fact that there will be a wallmount for them too..

I ordered two C31's yesterday... It took the customer service person about 30 minutes to find what I wanted in the system and make sure she was doing the order properly and also getting approval from the supervisor that they were ready to go. My install is tomorrow night, so we'll see if the install tech has what I requested but they did confirm is was the C31 RVU client.

Here was my order...

Installation Fee $0.00
Delivery & Handling Fee $0.00
Tax $6.74
HMC Client Installation $98.00
Order Total Paid* $104.74

Sure looks like that is Installation with a Samsung Smart Tv rather than C31 Genie Mini Clients.

I could be wrong.... You will know tomorrow evening...

I agree that looks more like what we saw earlier in the other thread where the guy was originally scheduled to get an RVU TV installed. Keebler21 should probably call back and get his order changed. It should be more like Paragon's other post where it refers to it as the Genie Mini Client.

Wouldn't be the first time a CSR and their "supervisor" were wrong. Not that I'm saying there aren't supervisors around, but I think half the time the say they are talking to their "supervisor" they are really just talking to the other CSRs sitting next to them to see if any of them know how to do it/the answer/etc.

As far as we have heard here there was no way for them to order C31s for cutomers outside of the test markets until today. So if he ordered yesterday it is most likely wrong.
