Is the DIRECTV AM21 Off-Air Tuner compatible with the HR22-100 (HD DVR) receiver?

I thought I read somewhere that the AM21 device was only compatible with the HR21 receiver?

I can see the AM21 in "Kits and Equipment" section on my current setup when logged in at DirecTV.com and would like to get one of these devices, if it will work with the HR22.

Yes it works with the HR22. The HR22 is only an HR21 with a larger disk drive.

As mentioned above, the HR22 is the same hardware, just a bigger drive. It uses the same SW as the HR21 so you're good to go.

Yes - you need an antenna to hook up to it, either indoor or outdoor (whatever works best for you).
To expand on this, that's the point of the AM21: it's the way to hook up an external antenna with your HR21/22 so you can take advantage of the receiver's DVR functionality with an OTA signal. There's no point in having an AM21 otherwise.
