Wellllll ... those who have one (which was what I asked) wouldn't need the link. :) ;)

I'm interested in finding out who has one now so they can be warned that when the new NR for the HR-2X comes out the device will not function. Then we can all get together and hopefully get them to fix the incompatability.

But, thinking about it you are correct, because we might as well warn anyone ABOUT TO BUY ONE not to.

I was going to suggest that you post a link.

I'll do it for you.

How does the HR software affect the popcorn hour player? Network clash?

More like "network CRash" :)

When any HR-2x is plugged in the PCH can't seem to see the network. It seems to be trying to connect but can't. Depending on how many HR-2x's you have it may or may not eventually time out and connect. I have 3 HR20's and it basically never connects. I sorta worked around it buy putting it on a separate network since my computer has 2 NICS. I am now able to access to PCH but the PCH loses access to the internet because it can't get out throught the gateway because it's on a different network. At least I don't have to run around the house unplugging the HR's from the network to use the PCH and I can access the hard-drive in the PCH from my computer to move files. The PCH however can no longer access my computer to stream files from it.

Response from PCH Support: "Syabas developer already awared of this issue. In fact, we have contacted DirectTV and send them a Popcorn Hour to debug. DirectTV will also send us a sample to check but we still haven't received their sample unit yet."by: Popcorn Hour Support on 10/13/2008 12:13:38 AM

Wow. Amazing. That is truly a bad, bad thing.

Thanks for the info.

They must be trying to use the same port or something. Just wow.

Been doing some testing with PH & Syabas with no fix yet (other then a second router and different network for the PH) but just got this today from them:

"We got feedback from DirectTV developer that they have found some issue in their upnp server and they are doing more testing now and next week should have result from them."

Both sides seem to be actively working on the issue.
