I live in Manhattan, KS and I am wondering if there is any way to get D* to allow me to receive the national "big 4" in HD? I have a good off-air antenna and I can only receive one channel in HD. All of them that are provided as locals (from Topeka, Kansas City and Junction City) directly through D* are broadcast in SD. I'm pretty sure this is a common problem and I desperately need to have the ability to watch football games in HD....

And no...I don't want to give even more money to D* and buy into the NFL package...

You can apply for the waviers.

If they are accepted... then you will get the feeds from New York.
If they are denied... then your only option is then OTA

You have to call DirecTV... explain to them that you would like to request the HD waivers for the national HD feeds.

DirecTV actually does the applying for the waivers.
