Is there any proper way to connect the HR20-100 when you only have a single line running to it? I'm not interested in SWM solutions because I really don't need it. I have two lines running to my main HR22 but I only need/want one line connected to the HR20-100 in the bedroom. It works fine except that it tries to still record two shows at once and one will be a blank recording. Is there any way to tell it only one line is connected so it won't try to record two things at once and will automatically pick the higher priority recording to record? When it is recording and I turn it on, it also displays "Searching for signal" because it is trying to use tuner 2. I can use it this way but it'd be nice if it would "detect" that tuner 2 is not hooked up and wouldn't try to use it.

I'd start with a reboot. If you're having problems where it's still seeing tuner 2 after rebooting, redo your satellite setup. That ought to do it.

In sat setup there should be a setting for the number of tuners. Just set that to 1 and you should be fine.
Yes, you should be able to redo satellite setup and force it into single-tuner mode.

I ran into this same issue with an HR20-700, the only way I could finally get it to not recognize the second tuner was to remove the second BBC, power the unit down and leave it unplugged for a day. Then and only then did it not try to utilize a second tuner when recording.

Thanks. I'll try these suggestions. Is there any menu item or check that I can perform to see if it correctly went into single tuner mode? As I remember, the last time I checked, it still showed "OK" for tuner1 and tuner2 in the test.
