I live on the Jersey shore. Right now we get ABC, NBC, CBS & Fox in HD. Just wondering if their has been any word about the CW (WPIX channel 11) in NY coming to HD Directv??

Thanks!

I got nothing. I brought this topic up about a month ago and I haven't heard anything new since then. Sorry.
There's always WPIX via OTA antenna.
I live too far from NYC for OTA reception. Why, for the love, are channels 9 and 11 not in HD. The sat is up there beaming a spot to my house. What is the hold up!?
I live more than 50 miles NW of NYC and pickup CW HD OTA on my H20 and roof antenna.
I can't find anything worth watching on the CW in SD, let alone HD.

I am in New Windsor, What antenna are you using? Also , how is your reception for the other networks?
I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the WPIX or WWOR feeds being added to the NY locals? Baseball season is almost here, and it would be great to get the Mets and Yankees OTA HD games via DirecTV.
I like Directv alot however with New York being the largest market it simply makes no sense that WPIX and WWOR are not in HD yet.

Waaaah:icon_cry: My market (#23) has only two of the four bigs. When HD LIL is available to most of the population, we can collectively whine about adding the other stations.

Does your CW offer more than 7% HD content? This week, mine is offering only 11 hours; seven of which I wouldn't watch on a bet.
I also have been patiently waiting for CW, My9 and don't forget, WNET (PBS), which has some awesome HD content. To compound this problem, I made sure to buy a plasma with a QAM tuner since I maintain a basic cable account with Cablevision. For about a month CV offered us those three networks over clear QAM, but around the beginning of this year, they took it away, so now I don't even have the option of watching those few shows on my QAM tuner. I agree, there isn't much HD content, but, I would enjoy watching ballgames in HD. Luckily (first time n my life I've said this), the pay channels, YES and SNY will be in HD this year, so it's only a few games that i'll have to deal with.
Steve,

You sure CV didn't just move the channels? I would do a rescan on the QAM tuner, the broadcast channels should be coming through fine. I know in Westchester, if I read correctly, they moved the channels to their proper channel #. I am sure you know about the IO Digital yahoo group, post there and ask Wilt H for assistance.

Back on topic, hopefully they add CW and My9 in HD to NYC DMA, but it may be a while if I had to take a guess.

The Mets and Yankees are on CW11 and My9 in NYC respectively. That's one reason a lot of people want these two channels in HD...

Because of that, I would expect DirecTV to add the channels. The Pistons are on Detroit's MyNetwork TV affiliate, and DirecTV added that channel. Our CW affiliate doesn't carry anything besides Lions pre-season games, and those are in SD. DirecTV doesn't carry their HD channel.
Sorry to be the downer here, but I believe Earl had responded in an earlier CW HD thread not to count on it anytime soon.

I do a channel scan on my QAm tuner on a weekly basis. I didn't know about the Yahoo IO Digital group but I do go to www.dslreports.com, and they have quite a bit on IO Digital, seems that CV is making some changes that affect clear QAM and from what I read, they may no longer be available.
