Well, I sent my email to support with the hope that we would see more national HD soon (complaining a little about the lack of nationals in the last BIG rollout). Their response was...

We can't currently offer all of your channels in HD because our satellite capacity doesn't allow us to do that yet. We're continuing to expand our HD capacity and hope to offer more HD channels in the near future.....

I asked if lack of satellite capacity meant waiting for D12, and their answer included:
...we don't have plans to add FoxNews and other channels you stated in HD at this time...
I was also asking about the promised HBO HD additions.
Oh well.

They have plenty of capacity. There are test channels still being linked, many PPVs are only temporary, and not all of the transponders are full.
Also, I can guarantee you that they have no clue on which channels are being added. No matter which channels you ask about the reply would have been, "We don't have plans to add_____________".
Well yeah ... I understand what you're saying and certainly believe it. It just BUGS me when they tell me something that is simply not true.
I fully understand if they just answer "we can only say we are planning to add more HD in the near future. We are not ready to announce anything yet, but will do so as soon as possible."
Even better would be "we are excited about new satellite capacity, and plan to continue new HD launches in the next month or so as previously announced."

<---green smileyOh, and you have NOT lived until you've seen Sabrina The Teenage Witch in SD on an HD channel. That show was just made to be seen in its original aspect ratio.
In my opinion, D* should do what they did with D10. With D10, they announced all the HD national channels that would be coming from Sept 2007 through the end of the year. We didn't know specifically which week they would turn on, just that they were coming by the end of the year. This way, we know what to expect and they get a chance to have another marketing opportunity with a big announcement. Right now it seems like we here "soon" and "it's coming" but what and when is not being addressed, so who really knows what to believe. Why the big secret? That just seems like an odd strategy to me. My 2 cents.

I think we will see several new channels light up... of course they will be LIL HD channels, not national...
