There has been a lot of pixelation in our location Bears-Packers' game here in the KC area. Anybody else notice it?

FWIW It looks really good here in L.A...
I'm watching the game via MPEG4 LIL...
Yes, I notice it. OTA and MPEG4 via Sat.
Pretty typical. It's on NBC.

BMORE, are you going OTA or via Satellite?
Interesting. I'm watching upstairs in SD and my wife is watching in HD, both on the SAT.
PQ on the game is terrible tonight. I thought TW was messing with compression since we got a couple new HD channels yesterday.
Wow....I guess MPEG4 does make a difference. I watched on my HR10-250, and there was a bunch of pixelation. BTW, I'm also in Los Angeles.
Some people in this thread don't understand, perhaps being new, so I'll be blunt:

The problem with HD on NBC is your local affiliate. NBC as a network has problems in general, especially with NFL football. But many local NBC stations have multiple subchannels which bit starves the HD channel. Thus causing all sorts of issues like pixelization and so forth. It's not a problem with Dish or DirecTV or your local cable. It's all your local station and it's terrible HD signal. NBC has long been known for subpar HD and it's not helped by the local affiliates.

*Some* local NBC stations are fine, but many are not. A complaint letter should be directed to your local NBC station manager.
Well, Scott, when I watched the game on MY local NBC network station, Channel 5.1 of Chicago, the audio and video was fine. If I tried to watch it on channel 82, the NBC national HD feed, it was horrible--constant audio breakups and video problems.

Wow you must have watched a different 5.1 than I did. I thought the picture quality was awful last night, almost as bad as the Bears. I'll agree the Audio was fine but the Video sucked, very bit starved.
I will agree that there was video problems on 82 I tried it for a while and thought it was about the same.
Picture looked great to me, especially the status line at the top. :)

I didn't notice any major problems from the OTA in SLC. They've been working very hard at the local station to keep it clean.

Cheers,
Tom

Maybe it was something on your end, because I didn't have any problems w/ my channel 5.1. Weird.

Just to note that channel 82 is simply the OTA feed from New York's local NBC station. If it has problems so will 82.

It was ok on my local NBC OTA audio wise but had a lot of pixelization, as usual. My point was that NBC is pretty awful across the board with NFL in HD and HD in general but some local NBC stations are ok. It really depends on what market you're in.
Their Saturday NFL game was terrible, too. That game, broadcast on the NFL Network channel 212, was also broadcast on ch. 82 because the Giants were playing. It was also broadcast on ch. 95. Channels 212 (SD) and 95 were fine--no audio or video problems. However, ch. 82 was terrible.

I guess the question is what are we watching it on? I was watching on Sony 50" RPLCD thru a HR10-250.

Also watched it on the same TV but with the H20.
