I never really watched a Comedy Central Roast before, but man this was good. Stamos made an excellent Roastmaster. Saget is one of my favorite comedians of all time it's great to see him laugh at himself.

So Stamos did a good job considering that he used to be the Beach Boys drummer?

Norm Macdonald claimed to be reading "Marmaduke," yet he was holding the L.A. Times sports section. "Marmaduke" appears in the entertainment section. Therefore, I can't believe anything anyone said during the roast. :)

My wife and I were fortunate enough to go to the taping of this roast a couple weeks ago. We had a blast. They cut a significant portion out as it took over 2 hours to tape an they took very few breaks. There were other interesting things such as the Stamos-Leachman kiss taking place right after her opening statement ("I'm not here to roast Bob Saget....") and not at the end of her segment. Also the fact that the kiss went on for 3 or 4 times longer than what they showed.

We also snuck into the after party. Got a shot glass with "Saget" on it to prove it. Good times.

I thought it was pretty good compared to recent roasts. I just wish they'd start showing Friars' Club roasts again. Those were always great. (I don't think many people noticed but when their contract ran out with the Friars' Club, they copied the exact format and created the "Comedy Central Roast" instead of renewing the contract. After this happened, all the lame comedians that were on Colin Quinn's old show "Tough Crowd" started showing up at every roast.)

The thing that usually bugs me about roasts is that it seems like the roasters end up roasting the other roasters more than the man (or woman) of the night. I watched the William Shatner roast, for instance, and most of the zingers were directed at others on the stage than Shatner himself.

If they actually roast the guest of honor, I'd be more inclined to watch.

Anyone get an uncensored recording? I recorded it at 11pm thinking it was late enough. I still haven't watched it, holding out for an unbeeped version.

Based on my past experiences with Comedy Central programming: I would guess that the uncensored version will air in a few weeks, probably on a Saturday night/Sunday morning at 1:00 A.M. (yes, that late -- for their uncensored shows, they actually do take into account people watching via dish on the West Coast who will see it at 10:00).

You're not supposed to believe anything they say, you're just supposed to laugh.

That's cool! That had to be fun to be there in person I would have done anything to be either at the Roast or the taping of his HBO special, That Ain't Right.

Was he supposed to be funny? cause he wasn't. I liked most of the show and wished it hadn't been bleeped some of the bleeps ran too close together and couldn't make out the joke.

Norm Macdonald's set was hilarious because it was the only original thing from the whole roast. Yes, his jokes were intentionally unfunny, but he was able to make fun of all the other roasters and Bob Saget without casting any jokes directly at them. Everyone else relied on the same unoriginal, cliched "vulgar" and "offensive" comedy with nothing but rehashes of jokes told at older roasts slightly modified to fit the roastee. By doing what he did, he called out all the other roasters on their lazy, unoriginal attempts at comedy while he simultaneously mocked Bob Saget's old "squeaky clean" image (and horrible family friendly jokes) that Bob's now trying so much to disassociate himself from.

Well I am glad you enjoyed that bit i thought it was terrible. i certainly did not laugh and just thought "WTH?" As did most people in the audience that just didn't "get it"

He was better than Jon Lovitz who I think is one of the worst comedians ever.

Once you understood that the funny part was not the jokes themselves, but the idea to tell old jokes and the delivery of them, then it got funny. When I was at the taping, I also thought "wth?". But when I watched it again on tv I was laughing uncontrollably. It had a touch of Andy Kaufman in it.
