Last night whiile watching the Twins Sox game :( on TBS HD, my tv's screen kept pixelating and I ended up losing signal momentarily a few times. This channel is on 129. Has anyone else experienced these problems last night?

There are lots of threads with mention of problems with the 129 satellite. The satellite "wobbles" within its orbit and that seems to cause the problem that some of us see at times. I found that a larger dish (24") helps somewhat with this problem but the only solution will come when a new satellite is launched to that slot. That is expected to take place late in 2008.

Thanks Bill. I was worried that I might have had a tree obstructing the view of the satellite and don't want the job of trimming any branches back or taking it down.

Yeah, if you're not getting a great signal from 129 to begin with (less than 20 or so on the meter), then the wobble will produce the pixelation and signal loss roughly every 20-30 minutes. If you do have a signal that low, see if you can get your dish repointed.

I upgraded to HD recently. The installer changed out the dish 500 to a 1000.2 and added a VIP722. Right away I had pixelation and signal drop out. A check of the signal showed a reading of 12. I had to call the installer back out to repoint the dish. He may be feeding me a line, but, he stated that dialing in a strong signal on 129 is "touchy" at best. In any event I wouldn't let him leave until I got a much better signal. We ended up at 28. I have had no problems since then.

Not feeding you a line. I had to relocate my wing dish myself after three attempts by contractor techs to get a decent signal.

I got tired of the 129 problems. Went the Eastern Arc went live with our locals, I swung my 129 dish to the southeast and I have been looking at 61.5. Much happier!
But now you probably will not get your Fox Sports channel in HD, if at all.
