Anyone in L.A. Lose Channels 72 thru 90's

Everyday around 5:30 til about 8-ish, I lose the signal on evrything on the sat that carries the 70's thru 90's. D* sent a guy out once, he had no clue since I was getting 95% sig strength. He's said maybe it'll be fixed in an update. I doubt this is a software issue since it doesn't seem anyone else is ranting about it here (that I've seen anyway). Resetting the box does NOT bring them back, but they seem to re-appear around 8pm.

Not sure what to do,

Sounds like an environmental issue to me. Make sure all of the outside connectors are tight. If they are, get a tech out there to replace the LNB assembly on the dish.
When the channels are not working, have you ever gone into the signal meter on the box and checked to see what the signal strength is on the transponders for all your sats? Especially 110? Take a reading when everything is working and compare it to a reading when the channels aren't working. By the way, do you have a multiswitch, and is it powered?

That does have the hallmarks of a thermal problem. Something like the sun is hitting it and heating up a marginal connection (bad solder joint, marginal compression fitting, etc) and once the sun goes down and it cools off and contracts the connection is good again. What do your transponders show at that time? Can you run a before and after transponder test, that way you can look for deltas in the signal strength.

Thanks all. I'll check it tomorrow(110), but my sig strength is always 95% while it's happening. No multi-switch is actually used in setup as well.

So, it's not working again. On 110, all I get is "Not Acquired". Thoughts????
gsand,

I had a very similar problem when I had two switches cascaded to get 12 outputs. By installing the switches in parallel using power-pass splitters, everything started working fine all the time.

Cheers,
Tom
