Are the Turbo HD rates promotional?

I am a current customer with the absolute HD package, which is a great deal, but I really want my RSN's and want to upgrade to a HD-DVR, which would put me back on a 24 month commitment. I've been waiting to see what Dish does with their HD packages and it looks like TurboHD Silver is perfect for what I want... more HD than cable, RSN's, still cheaper than cable. However we all know the catch: only for new subs.

I know the TurboHD packages become available in February, but I am worried that the price for Silver for new subs might be a promotional rate and that current subs might have to pay more for these packages come February. I called customer service and they would not give me any future pricing information. I am a little worried that if I stay and upgrade to the DVR I will end up having to pay similar prices to DirecTV to get my RSN's and HD, and if that is the case, I might as well just get directv (I've been pretty disappointed in the lack of MLB package, though again I have spent less of my free time zonked in front of the TV this last year. That and there's talk directv might pick up Voom. grrr).

So what do you all think? Will TurboHD Silver still be $32.99 in February? If I knew that for sure, I might be able to stomach switching to AT100+ for the RSN and then back to Turbo Silver in February. Or have a dual dish absolute HD/cable (for RN) feed until Feb...

I know a lot of customers are in the same boat regarding TurboHD.... I'm this close to calling to cancel just to see what kind of deal they give me. I'll post results it I do.

Nobody knows for sure. February is the time of year for Dish prices to increase, so there's a chance that the price could change at the same time that TurboHD standalone packages become available to current subs. Or it could stay the same.

I know that repeated pretty much what you said and didn't answer your question, but nobody but Dish knows. I'm sure the resellers around here will get a heads up sometime in January, but still...

Based on the competitive situation and looking at the Dish financials, I pretty sure Dish doesn't know what they're going to do in February either.;)
There's your answer!

Based on the retailer chat today, it looks like they are working on making turbo for existing customers, they said, expect an announcement in the future, which means, "soon"
I wouldn't think the prices are promotional.

AT200 + SilverHD is $54.99 a month

TurboHD Silver is $32.99 a month.

The $20+ savings a month makes the deal worthwhile.
