FCC Chairman Kevin Martin told reporters today that commission members have
made little progress on AT&T's pending takeover of BellSouth, which is awaiting
approval at the Portals. The FCC was set to vote on the transaction Friday, but the
item was dropped from the commission's meeting agenda. "I always try to work with
my colleagues but I think we're still pretty far apart and the progress has slowed." ---
