I have a Yamaha soundbar and an Hr20-700. I have sound delays when changing channels. It may take 20-30 seconds for sound to start (video is fine). Connection is Hdmi.

Any thoughts.

Is this a recent problem? has this worked in the past?

Just a thought, It may be a built in feature to keep the soundbar from blowing out, but a 30 second delay is uncommon 5-10 second I can see.

It is a recent problem. No issues in the past.

Blowout? Not an issue on my Samsung Soundbar hooked up via Optical that decodes Dolby Digital and Yamaha's are generally high end so I would assume its the receiver. Turn Dolby Digital on and off and test it in the Settings > Audio > Menu.

Turning Dolby off eleminates the delay. So I wonder what has changes in the past few weeks that could have caused this to start?

replaces a short piece of coax between the switch and the device that looks like a splitter (I know it's not a splitter, but not sure what to call it) and the delay seems to be better. the cable seemed to be bent very tightly so could have had a marginal break.
