For the past few years my Autopay came out on the 11th of each month and that was the day that the bill actually came out. This month I noticed that the autopay did not come out and it say's it due to be taken out on the 25th... Anyone else experience a similar change??? Is this something DirecTV did for everyone? I call DirecTV and they said it was due to a debit card, but after a few years I am curious why this happened all of a sudden... I actually like that they now will give you a few days to absorb the bill and make any changes since I am also green with an electronic bill...

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. My bill has always been due on the 27th, but auto pay would come out of my bank account on the same day the bill posted. Now it is scheduled for the actual due date, or so I thought.

So, now my account posts that Auto pay is the 27th. I called and spoke to a CSR who said they had changed their system for billing (thanks for the heads up DirecTV - heavy on the sarcasm). So now they bill you on the due date not the bill posted date.

What surprises me again is today I log onto my account and while it still says the Auto Pay date is the 27th, the money was pulled from my account today. Nice!

You'd think that when a company messes with their customers finances, they'd be a little more forthcoming with information.

I agree... I am glad others see this as well... I thought it was just me and something happened with my bank I.E. Expiration date on the card changed... When I looked into it further I found the same issue we are all experiencing... Thanks DirecTV for the heads up!!! LOL!!!

It is ridiculous. I wonder what I'd find trolling through the small print of the automatic payment agreement. I'm sure the lawyers have a clause allowing them to change the date, triple the charge, borrow your first born, without prior consent.

Oh, and what does DirecTV have to say... sorry, that's it. Sorry's are cheap, so no problem there.

So don't do auto then. I've been getting e-mails that tell me my bill is ready for viewing. Then I go to the web site at my leisure and make the payment on line. The result is the same (my bill gets paid) and I don't have to worry about what they might do. It's really not a hardship for me.

Yeah, happened to me too. They are a mess. I'm not happy with it, but aside from the alternative of stopping, not sure there's much to do. There system is flawed, and again we pay the price a little earlier.

Don't even talk to me about this issue  I about canceled over this i signed up for the auto pay in early june for the go green credit, on 6-21 my bill date, my bill printed and that same day they charged my CC for the amount of the bill, and I called in upset, and they told me that was normal, and that is how they charge you, and I told them online it shows it will be deducted on a date in July not the billing date, and they told me that is incorrect and they will have to have someone look into it, so i told them to remove it, well they weren't able to and told me to try online myself. Well I was never able to, well 1 week before my next bill printed i emailed and said I could still not remove it and if they don't and i get charged i will cancel. they assured me it was removed, so i was fine with that, the bill date came and went and i wasn't charged. So I thought all was well until last monday when I logged in and discovered they had deducted another payment from my account on when by payment date had even been reached yet. Well i called in to cancel as i had threatened to, and the rep i spoke to promised up and down every which way it won't happen again, because its not on the account and he doesn't know why it happened now, well I set up the cancelation for this weekend to allow time to change providers, I called back later and wanted to speak to a manger to find out why this was happened. When I did the rep i spoke to first, told me the same thing its not there, but then mysteriously just before i spoke to the mgr, she found the Auto pay still on my account and removed it. So if i would have take the word of the previous reps, I would have gotten the next bill deducted again without authorization. The mgr was very understanding and helpful, for all the troubles she offered me a year of free HD, 1 year of $10 cr and premier upgrade for free for 2 months, if i would stay, after i confirmed that the auto pay was off the account I accepted it. Then saturday morning i woke up to find my service was turned off, because when they canceled the cancel, they didn't stop the programing from being turned off, so i had to call in again get it turned back on. Then Sunday i tried to use Directv On Demand and found it was turned off, and i had to call again, and get it turned back on, then the rep obviously not looking at my account offered me 3 free months of showtime for being a good customer, even though i have premier, i thanked him for the offer, but that i already had the premier package. :nono: so Moral of the story if you are still reading, don't sign up for Auto Pay

I see everything from utility bills to credit card due dates bouncing around now. I have no idea why Direct is changing the dates but I saw on a news report that the credit card companies do it to generate late fees and raise interest rates.

After calling Directv today and speaking to a couple of reps, I have some information that may explain the billing/credit card issues:

When your new bill comes out it is due 20 days after your start of your billing cycle.

True credit card (not debit) payments are charged on the date your bill comes out.

Debit card payments used to be charged the date your bill came out, now they are charged about 2 weeks later.

Autopayments from your checking account are still charged about 2 weeks after your bill comes out.

It seems they changed the date on the Visa, MC Debit card withdrawls to more closely match the electronic funds withdrawl.:)

Thanks for the update.

I was curious about that.
