I take it this wasn't a clean install. No, it's not happened to me on any PC nor have I ever heard it happening to others. Office 95 is no longer available or supported by MS, it's way too old.
automatic install of office 95 on vista
I recently installed windows vista ultimate. I doubled clicked on a word document thinking it would open a viewer or wordpad but the windows installer came up and it said it was configuring office 95. when the installer closed word 95 opened up.
