Automatically record the next same episode?

I have two shows set to record at the same time on Sunday. They are both series. I want to record another show at that time. If I stop on of the first two shows, will my DVR automatically find the next time that that same episode is on and record it?

When you say "stop on of the first two shows", do you mean cancel the scheduled recording of one of the first two shows (before it starts recording)?

Yes... Sorry for not clarifying better.
I have the HR20. I assume it's the same way for the HR21:
Just go into the To Do list and delete the one program you want to cancel. You will not be deleting the series so the next episode will be recorded.

Yes, all other episodes already scheduled will still be recorded, but will the scheduler add a new recording of an alternate airing of the episode that was cancelled.

Ahh, I missed that part of the OPs post. If the schedular is set to record both first run and repeats, then I THINK it should record it.

Most of the time I only record first run episodes. However, I remember the unit automatically recording series that were on at different times if I set it to record both first run and repeats. I can't verify if the HR20 still does this with the more recent software updates...

I know that my DirecTivos will find and record a repeat airing (if it's available) if the scheduled recording of the first run is manually bumped by scheduling another recording or if it can't be done under automatic scheduling because there is a tuner conflict... even if the season pass is set to record only first runs, but I don't know if the DirecTV DVRs do that.
