Bad OTA Tuner on HR20-100??

I am trying to figure out if I have a tuner going out on my HR20-100. I currently have this hooked up to a cheap pair of rabbit ears and Tuner 1 goes from 80's to N/A and just keeps jumping back and forth. Tuner 2 is fine as it holds the signal consistently in the 80's. This is only happening on 3 of the locals that I get. Our ABC affliliate is fine.

I have reset the receiver, unplugged it overnight, repeated OTA setup and it is still happening. If it is bad is this something D* would replace and would I receive another HR20 in return? Thanks

Since you mentioned rabbit ears, you must be talking about OTA, not satellite tuners.

From your description, if the signal goes between 80 and zero very often, that's a multipath problem. I suspect you are within a few miles of the tv stations antenna. Even if other tuner isn't getting it that bad, it will if you watch it long enough

Unfortunately I have experienced a similar problem with an HR20-100 and H20-100. The 100's have older tuners and multipath is a problem. Either you need a better antenna pointed in a direction to minimize multipath or a new receiver. The HR21/HR22 series with AM21 OTA tuner will probably solve your problem or an HR20-700, but that will be very difficult to come by
