Just signed up for Movie Pass, went to download my first movie (Ides of March) and found they want me to pay $6.99. Do I understand this correctly? For $10 a month, I can have new release BR DVD's mailed to me, (one at a time), but I need to pay for that same new release to be HD streamed?

You got it...the majority of Disks I've gotten from BBMP have been movies that were available on PPV

I hope you enjoy Ides--it's currently at the top of my queue

I don't see "Ides Of March" as part of the Blockbuster Movie Pass? I see it as a Movie On Demand, not associated with Blockbuster..... I may not have checked every movie, but I think any movie streamed with Blockbuster Movie Pass is free.

You're mixing two different services. One is new, very new usually movies that you can watch instantly at home, no downloading. The other is new, sometimes not quite as new or old that you wait for and have to send back. (Or if streaming, a very limited amount of movies, some newer, many not) I'm not knocking the Blockbuster free movie by mail at all, quite the opposite, it's a great addition to the $10 movie package. But that is a completely different service than On Demand.

I suspect the point was that we can pay $6.99 to get it on demand or get it by disk as part of BBMP (and yes, we know that'll take a couple extra days).

Both windstar & I used therms such as disk & DVD. I realize windstar may have suspected that Dish PPV-VOD is included in BBMP when he signed up, but that doesn't make it any less accurate that he could pay $6.99 for it or wait to get the disk delivered

Just thought of this, even if Ides was on blockbuster streaming, that system is so wonky that the disk would probably be here before I could stream/download it anyhow LOL

You are paying for that difference, plus generally new movies a little quicker. I guess I just didn't understand the surprise that two different services have different price structures. Best illustration is from friend who is on the road alot, was home and his family was all home that night, a movie they all wanted to see was on ON Demand, too new to be on Blockbuster streaming. Waiting for a Disc to come was not an option, so I'm guessing they did not mind paying the $5.99 or $6.99.

Newest movies need to be set as dvd sent to your home, they are not covered in BBMP.
Isn't the DVD portion actually PART of BBMP? (the other parts being the bbmp streaming-older stuff and not a great interface- that some receivers can handle, and those approx 20 hd channels that previously were sold as Dish Platinum or some such name)

Sorry, when I used "they", I meant new releases.

PPV, VOD, steaming, download to DVR & then view, etc, etc ... plus an onscreen guide that is from the dark ages. No wonder folks are confused.
Bingo. And I have BBMP, and I still don't understand the difference between that and Blockbuster Online. And if I can use BB Online with an Oppo 95 on my other TV, with BBMP on the 1st TV.

And then you go to a store, and there's all the different programs there. (We have the Kid's Pass: 2 out at a time for my 2 kids.)

They really should have an effort to educate everyone what all the different plans are, and who can apply for what (i.e., Dish vs non-Dish subscribers).
