Hi everyone,
I am just about to sign up for D* but before I do, I just wanted to know if there is an advantage/disadvantage to signing up at one of those stores.
The reason I ask is that I know that CC has the new HR22 receivers in stock and that Best Buy is giving a $50 gift card with new activation.

Also, does anyone know if I would be able to apply a couple of extra discounts to my service like the AAA discount and referal discount?

Thanks

Big box stores do not offer AAA nor referral discounts. If you are eligible for either and you don't get some sort of substantial instant discount on something you desire, you'll be better served to go direct.

Is there a way to add the referal of AAA discounts after I were to sign up?

I bougth my newest HR21 at CC and when I called to have it activated I politely asked if I could get any discounts like the ones I had seen advertised. The nice young lady cut a very nice credit on the spot. I costs nothing to ask, they usually give programming credtis.

No - I missed the AAA discount during signup, so even after requesting it, and an official review of my request, they wouldn't give me the $10 off for 24 months.

However, I was successful in getting $50 off per year for 2 years - that's the "existing customer" AAA deal.
