Anyone know where I can get a DVR or a HD DVR for a good price? I need an extra one for all the shows coming up this season.

Options:

A) Best Buy or Costco, both have HDDVRs for $169.99. Best Buy is mostly just stocking the $199.99 HR22 though (only difference is a 500gb vs. 320gb HDD).

B) Call Directv and see what kinda of deals they will give you (ask nicely). Standard rate is $199.99 for an HDDVR

C) Go onto Directv.com and login to your account, then look at the receivers page and see if you have any deals listed. Sometimes there are online deals already listed for some customers that would bring the price to $99 for a HDDVR

D) Hit up www.SolidSignal.com and purchase the receiver you want

Note that direct from directv you have no control over what model you get (HR20, HR21, or HR22) but with Solid Signal, Best Buy, and Costco you can see what you are buying (Solid Signal stocks almost all the models, Best Buy and Costco tend to stock the latest (HR22 or HR21).

I got an HRXX from D* yesterday for 99.00 +19.95 handling. They're running some kind of a special. Call and ask the CSR.
The specials all depend on your account status as far as programming package, current receivers, payments on time, etc.
The best I've been able to get is free. (3 times - HR21, HR20, HR10-250) :D

The last freebie was back in May or so - not sure how often they're giving them for free these days.
We received an HR20 in March for $49. An HR21 was installed last week for $99 as a replacement for our H10 that was being replaced. We just ordered a second HR-XX that should arrive this week and paid $99 for it tonight. Not exactly free, but a good price and all of our TVs will now be HD :)
