This has been happening since the winter season of Big Brother. The problem is more pronounced and consistent with the summer edition. Watching on CBS 4 Miami.

The show records and plays well except for one section when they playback goodbye messages for the evicted house guest. At that point the picture gets jumpy, pixelation occurs, the screen will become either partially or totally green or a blank screen. Only other time this occurs is during the POV competition.

The problem has been through several CE's and happens on both HR 20-700 and HR20-100.

My guess is it may be a local station problem. Our NBC affiliate (13 Birmingham) started broadcasting their local news in HD. Almost every night, during the 10PM news, when the weather segment starts, there will be a small amount of pixelization and an audio burp. It happens almost every night and on every one of our D* HD receivers. I am guessing there may be something about the actual picture content that is exposing a bug in the compression equipment. Also, this is only on the D* signal, not the OTA, so it’s not the local affiliate’s issue, it’s D*’s.

This has happened at the same point, during the goodbye message, two weeks in a row. Broadcast flag?

Same exact thing happens to me on the Houston CBS affiliate (KHOU). I also noticed it on Big Brother 'Til Death do us Part'. Seems to be worse this season though.

This has always been while either watching timeshifted or full blown recorded version on my HR20-700.

Same thing this past Thursday. Right at the goodbye messages it started to pixelate. The thing is, I was watching it on my tivo so it's not an hr-2x problem. Also, my hr-21 has missed three or four episodes with the "not available" deal in the history. I wish I could trust this thing to record my shows. What a shame :(
