Appears there's a bit of a problem over at CBS. From Dateline Hollywood in an update:
On Twitter, Jennifer Esposito disputed CBS TV Studios' account of why she is going on a leave, slamming them for sidelining her and callling it "absolutely shameful behavior".

"CBS PUT me on unpaid leave and has blocked me from working anywhere else after my doctor said you needed a reduced schedule due to Celiac," she wrote. "CBS didn't listen to my doc and I collapsed on set. Which everyone saw! After a week off my doc said I could return to work but CBS implied that I was NOT truly ill and this was a scheme to get a raise! It's been almost two months without bringing me back to work + keeping Me from working anywhere else!… Absolutely shameful behavior."
The original story explained:
Jackie Curatola is leaving the force, at least for now. Blue Bloods co-star Jennifer Esposito, who plays Detective Danny Reagan's (Donnie Wahlberg) partner, is departing the CBS drama series for the foreseeable future. "Jennifer has informed us that she is only available to work on a very limited part-time schedule," CBS TV Studios said in a statement. "As a result, she's unable to perform the demands of her role and we regretfully had to put her character on a leave of absence." The studio would not comment on Esposito's reasons to ask for the significant workload reduction, but the actress has been public about her struggles with Celiac Disease. She has become a Celiac advocate, educating people about disease and helping those like her who have it.

Having dealt with similar issues for several years, she has my sympathies. Although the diet that works the very best for me had me losing 11 pounds. In Hollywood, that would be a good thing. Maybe I can send her my recipes?

It also majorly sucks that they would lie about her so blatantly. That dishonors her integrity and effects her future work possibilities. This is one case where I hope she sues or gets some sort of compensation for being denigrated personally.

I don't watch the show, but between being shown a segment she did on Dr. Oz in the past about her health, and as someone who has recently switched to a gluten free diet due to health issues, I feel for her more so than I would normally.

I'm rooting for her BIG TIME!! :)

She's good, but replaceable. Almost no one else in that cast is. What they should have done is promoted her character to Captain, which would keep her in the show, but limited her exposure and work hours. That would be my call. It would make everybody happy (with the exception of Robert Clohessy), including her fans who are viewers CBS probably wants to hang on to. I'm not sure that this would be enough leverage for her to keep her full salary but then if her ability to work is limited, maybe she should think about taking a pay cut, not pushing for a raise. I know if I started wanting to work half the hours I work now, I'd be lucky to still get paid at all, let alone get paid half my salary.

Sympathy for her troubles, but it is not a good idea to diss one of the big powers in the business by spouting off, regardless of how they are treating you, unless you expect to never work again. Quietly leave and go across the street while you still can. She is currently more of a "get" than ever because of her great work with that character on a very high-profile show. Shut the eff up and use that to your advantage; time is obviously short at CBS for her, so cut and run, girl.

It is also not the best position to be in (hampered by health issues that make it difficult to do the job) if you expect a raise. We all want a raise, but many of us, and she should include herself, are not in a position to demand one; many of us are happy to still be hanging on to a job in post-recession USA. If either of these issues attributed to her are true, and I have no earthly idea what is true here, she would only be hurting herself.

Always thought she was hot, and this character finally proved that she is a pretty good actress. A shame it is not working out for her.

On the episode I watched last night there was a new lady in her place.
At the end of the show she was telling her partner that she had had enough for now and was going on leave of absence .
