Bluetooth on HD Hopper and Joey not Compatible with Sony?

I recently purchased Sony wireless headphones WH1000XM3. I have tried multiple times to connect them to my hopper or joey with no luck. My wireless Bose speaker shows up with no issues.

I called Dish, and they tried also, but said since Sony is not as big a company as Bose, that they are probably just not compatible. Really did not seem to know the answer. Also said it could be that newer headphones may need to wait for a software update

Has anyone else had this issue?

Just wondering if I need to return my headphones (I really like them, but watching TV at night was a big part of getting them), or just get a bluetooth transmitter for the TV. Cannot believe such a large company's products would not be compatible with the Hopper.

I found the answer on another forum. Apparently, you have to keep holding the on/off button after the headphones come on until the light blinks red. Voila! The headphones showed up on the Hopper, my computer, etc. This was nowhere in the user guide that came with the headphones.
