Because I know you all want to make sure you are up on your Barry Bonds stats... 
Bonds broke McCovey's single season record with 46 intentional walks. This statistic has only been kept for about 40 years so we have no way of knowing how the older stars were treated. I'm sure Babe Ruth had to have about this many each year, but we'll never know. BTW, the American League record is 37 in one year...
