Boomerang has moved to 298 and there is a message at 297. Anybody know why?

I would love it if Adult Swim became a full time channel.

They have moved quite a few channels recently to open up that spot. However, my guess is that it's more likely to be for the Funimation Channel than the (currently nonexistent) Adult Swim channel.

Which transponder or satellite a channel is on has nothing to do with its numeric location.

Oh Em Gee, if UnFunimation gets its own channel I'm done with TV. They killed DBZ and maimed Tsubasa Chronicle to the point I can't watch it, then the C&D'd Slayers Revolution, and now they pollute the airways with their OWN CHANNEL... I don't think so, Homie don't play that.

*edit* okay, (crayon) shin chan isn't that bad, but still, they have WAY more bad marks against them then good.

For what it's worth, there was a thread about the FUNimation channel getting picked-up by DIRECTV in mid-late 2008, supposedly on channel 304:

However, it turned out to be just a rumor/hoax at the time.

If Boomerang was moved to make room for a new 'toon channel, my wife and I would love to see DIRECTV start carrying more anime of any kind--The Anime Network, FUNimation Channel--we'd take it!

I believe that the Anime Network no longer has a full time feed and is VOD only now.

Channel number has nothing to do with transponder or satellite location. They are mapped entities.

I'm confused! What would have been wrong with putting a new animation channel (if we get one) at channel 298?

It's not an issue with a new animation channel, it's that NotFUNimation has this nasty habit of [email protected]#king up everything they touch to make it more Western-world (read as: kid) friendly. Get some REAL anime fans together to make a station without an real affiliations or loyalties to any one producer, then you might have something.
