Well I hope we are not in for a reapeat of last Monday but both of my recievers are non-responsive this morning. Wont respond to remotes or the front control panel. Both are un-networked. One is a HR20-700 and the other is an HR21-100. It appears that a RBR has awoken them again but we will see.

I wonder if something is flaky where I live. My wife just called and said the HR21 stopped responding again, and this time it took 3 rbr's to come back. I wonder if I have a reciever starting to go bad?

Well I think I have the answer, it appears the power in my neighborhood has been flickering off and on all morning due to some transformer repairs. I noticed that the freezeups were co-inciding with each momentary loss of power. Does that make sense?

Yes indeed. That type of thing can wreak havoc with a system.

Personally I would unplug all your DVRs or put in UPS's until you're sure all that stuff is over with.

I too, have problems with my HR21-700. Last night, it became unresponsive to the remote control and required a red button reset.

After that, it was STILL not responding - so, I re-downloaded the software hoping it would "flush-out" whatever the problem was. It was previously on 055, and it re-downloaded the same software. This morning, every appeared to be normal.

Now, as of 10:30 AM in Chicago, I have all the menus working properly, remote works great, saved recordings all good, to do list is fine - with no picture or audio on any channel. Just BLACK.

What is going on here? I am on the verge of calling DIRECTV, but I am sure all they will say is "reset your receiver," which I have already done. Anyone else with this issue?

Well,

Just spoke with DIRECTV. They had me do a couple of tests, then of course - the red button reset. Everything works fine now.

I also inquired about the loyal customer rewards program. They told me I was a "3 heart customer," and offered me a discount on several receivers. I don't have any additional televisions, so I declined and they gave me 3 months of free Showtime.

Pretty cool.

My HR21 has a solid green screen right now. Unresponsive. GO DIRECTV!

How weird.

All three of my HR2x's are running fine.

My wife is home today (banker's holiday, humph!) and I have had no calls, so I assume everything is fine with ours.
I'm home myself. I've never seen another company with Columbus Day off.

I check all the boxes and there are no problems.

tody, one of my 5 dvrs was unresponsive and had to unplug to reboot. two weeks all 5 including two with ups were all non functioning and required unplugging. pushing the reset button didn't solve the problem.
I've had to "RBR" one of mine almost daily for the last several weeks. Two days ago I removed the networking cable. No problems since then.
