In reading about the new deca i went back and read the old DECA first look again. Here I notice a reference to a stop filter between the SWM LNB and your SWM Splitter. is this necessary? My setup is missing this currently but i don't know of any issues I am having. Please advise.

Typically the Stop Band Filter is only required on coax lines feeding an SD DVR (R16) or SD Receiver (D12).

What other equipment do you have?

Older SWMLnb's required a BSF (which is why you might see it referenced.) If you look at the LNB (and it has a green label) then you do not need a BSF before it.
