I have a DECA network with 5 HR21-and 22s. Want to add an HR20 just to the SWM, not the Deca WH system. Do I need a BSF between the coax and the Sat 1 input on the HR20?

Yup, that should do it.

Though which HR20 is it? There is a config difference for SWM between the -100 and -700.

I know there is a difference when connecting a DECA to the HR20-100 but I don't remember a difference when using SWiM alone. Can you elaborate?

the HR20-100 can't power the DECA from port 1 that is why you need to do it like in the diagram in that post. otherwise, if you don't use a DECA adapter on that one, the BSF will stop the DECA signal from entering the receiver which is what you want
