BTN and Dish

I am unable to receive the Big Ten Network on 439, 5440, 5441, or 9500 although I am subscribed to the America's Top 200 This occurred the same time Voom was removed and I just thought it was one of the same deletions. Dish personnel states that I should be able to receive this channel, although it is missing on my ViP 622 and 722 HD receivers. Dish personnel also stated that they could only submit another technical report This is totally unsatisfactory as I am paying for something that I am not receiving. Anyone else having the same problems. I was on the University fo Michigan football forum and some people are experiencing the same problems. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Since you are not in a Big Ten state you would have to subscribe to the MultiSports Package to receive BTN.
BTN was available to everyone for almost a year when it was added to Dish Network, but it was a free preview. When it ended, only specific areas within states which Big Ten schools are located kept them, it was removed from everyone else except those with the MultiSports pack.

Thanks for the information. Just ordered Multi-Sports Channel. Now I have BTN. I don't know why the people at Dish couldn't have told me that after two calls. C'est la vie.:D

I honestly don't know why they didn't. It's common knowlege and training material.
I never understood this..

I don't live in the Big Ten area so we went for the MultiSports Package (RSN's).
Thing is, since we don't live in the RSN we see a lot of games listed but they are all blacked out unless it is a high-school team or new program.

So I have the RSN package just to get the BIG 10.

I know this one is not an issue with Dish's.

I also know that a lot of the RSN blackouts are due to MLB. Thing is we can't get MLB on Dish so when it is blacked out due to MLB we just miss the program.

Alot of those games replays will not be blacked out. Also, it seems Dish uses a timer to turn the channel back on for you. So if a game has a rain delay or goes into extra innings you will get some of the mlb games live.

I recently added the multi sport, and it gave me not only BTN fulltime, but also Fox Sports Pit, since I guess I fall into their DMA.

Now if Dish would just get their sh***t together and make MSG Family of channels available to me in HD, there would be no temptation to leave them for D*.
