The thing is, if the mast isn't cut perfectly square(and they often aren't),that bubble level is a waste of timecompnurd said:i know but i would rather have the perm solution in the mast. want sure if some installers here had some lying around
Ditto, you are putting a great amount of faith into the end cut of a pipe. And even after you set the dish on it, the weight will have a slight effect. Best to use a torpedo or any short level to plumb the mast roughly, then fine tune it after the dish is set.ACILLATEM said:The thing is, if the mast isn't cut perfectly square(and they often aren't),that bubble level is a waste of time![]()
Like the other person said, a small torpedo level is the most accurate.
Uh-oh! You've done it now! The "mast-must-be-perfectly-plumb" guys are gonna be on you like chickens on a June-bug!JJJBBB said:I agree with these guys... bubble smubble. When I have to move it for some reason I usually sling up the ODU by eye and then use the ku signal meters for a final tweak. Works every time that way and I'm back to Judge Judy in minutes.
