If I buy a used receiver from someone with zero ballance, is it easy to get activated.
I heard a long time ago you need it to buy a new card ?
Any help
Thanks
With DISH network you need to get the card with the receiver it can be reused as long as there is no outstanding balance. You also need to call DISH with the R00 and S# to be sure it isn't a leased receiver.:)

If it's been out of service long enough to still have a blue card it will need to have a yellow card. Even though the swap was done at no charge, when I reactivated my 501 I was told I would have to buy the card (didn't get the price) or get it by signing up for the warranty/service plan.

Recently I activated old DP 301 with 'blue card'. I paid only activation fee and they sent 'yellow card' at no charge.:D
