You may also recall that those NBC Game of the Week telecasts were blacked out in both the home and visiting teams' markets, which meant that if your home team was playing that game, you couldn't watch. It didn't make a lot of sense, but those were the rules they followed.I remember when there was only one game a week on TV. Saturday's Game of the Week. That was it. One game. Two teams. The Sunday Ticket streaming app has shortcuts, but I've never seen any option for watching full game rebroadcasts. You need GamePass for that. I sometimes pull up the streaming app on my tablet while I'm watching games on the DVR, but it's not the same as being able to watch 3 games at a time on the DVR without missing any of the action.Just one guy who's been watching NFL Sunday Ticket only via streaming for the past 4-5 seasons. I don't know how many of you know this, but if you're a subscriber to Sunday Ticket, you have access to the NFL Sunday Ticket streaming app. I'd encourage you to give it a try this fall. Multiview functionality (you can set up 2, 3 or 4 games to view at once on your screen, including Red Zone and/or Fantasy Zone channels), access to Short Cuts and full game re-broadcasts (without commercials!), and you can even plug in your fantasy football team for updates (for those on NFL.com leagues.)
It's not all that bad.

I think you'll have the ability to watch any of those games for some period of time after the games are over, or potentially do like what MLB does is give you the ability to watch the games from the beginning (if they are still ongoing) but you'll lose your ability to skip commercials. But none of know anything for sure at this point. I wonder if DirecTV's interest is more around Red Zone, or they are just willing to see what happens and in the end determine if it's A) going to even be offered to them (not sure if someone like Apple or Amazon would consider it, ESPN/Disney is a different animal), or B) if it's worth their investment. We'll see.

The NFL's rules are considerably more exclusive than most. It is less like MLB where multiple teams can often claim the same addresses. I suspect that the leagues caved into what the streamers could reasonably implement.
Similar for me as well, my wife and I each have a team. Even if only one game is on at a time, we like to start watching 30 minutes late so that we can fast-forward through commercials and then also pause, rewind, etc. to our hearts content. Overall, doing this is very smooth on a DVR. I get why the NFL is doing this (money), but I'm pretty that the "glory days" of watching the NFL are behind us. I could be wrong, but I'll need quite a bit of convincing and proof before I believe that streaming is an improvement for me.

Short Cuts is pretty much a full game broadcast, dependent upon what you consider a "full game rebroadcast." I've used it several times through a week to get caught up on games I didn't get to see much of during a Sunday early/late window.
For a lot of people on this thread, I honestly get it. They know a system (DVR functionality, etc.) and the idea of moving away from a system they're familiar with isn't a comfortable feeling. It's not likely going to be the same, but I'm still a believer that Sunday Ticket will be a solid product moving forward in a streaming world.
Because they are Billionaires and have more money than the 01%of the population....And owning a pro team is what only the few can afford to do.....just for fun and a dick measuring contest!
A 30-minute "shortcut" of a 3-hour game is not what most people would consider a "full game rebroadcast".

I still won’t give up DIRECTV if it loses NFL Sunday Ticket because there is more to it than just football. There’s MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass, & NHL. Still tons of College Football every Saturday. Will I be disappointed I won’t see every game my favorite NFL team plays every Sunday? You better believe it because I am not ready to stream anytime soon and won’t EVER because I know it’s not as good as DIRECTV has served me over 2½ decades. For all you folks who say “DIRECTV has screwed me" well I am sorry for you. But as for me I have NEVER had any real major disputes with them. For the most part the company has served me very well & are continuing to deliver programming to me right now in a fine way.
NHL is streaming only now. ESPN+ took over the contract. There is no more Center Ice

Unless that changes this upcoming season I had NHL Center Ice on DIRECTV in 2021-2022. It was only $59 for the season. Cheapest it ever was.

What are you talking about? Center Ice most certainly exists but does not include the streaming option anymore. There are some ESPN+ exclusives.

I think more people will subscribe to the Ticket if it were offered over a streaming service, because so many more people have broadband, Roku, Fire TV, smart TV's, whatever already. It is where everything is going. That is, as long as the NFL doesn't screw it up by piecemealing it around. I would want ONE place to go and it has to be offered on a device I already have. If they do something dumb like say it is all on Amazon, but ONLY on a FireTV stick that would turn me off. If they say these games are on ESPN+, these are on Amazon, these are on Paramount, so on and so forth, that would be horrible. I can't see them doing it with the Ticket, but I've seen dumber things happen.
