This is a victory for all DVR owners and leases at the present time. You ask why. Because the win in court was against the entertainment industry. The entertainment industry is not happy with this ruling. Now the cable operators will be able to control the DVR content and software capabilities. So you can still fast forward and pause and do all the neat stuff still we do with the HD DVR from DirectV or Dish Network. This is still subject to the entertainment idustry taken it all the way to the Supreme Court to continue there fight against it. This is why this is a important victory for everyone right now.
