New Products to Enable Expanded HDTV Programming
OXNARD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP - News), a leading provider of wireless products, today announced that it has commenced shipments of next generation outdoor satellite reception equipment to Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) service providers DirecTV and Echostar. CalAmp's new products provide greater satellite reception capacity that will enable the DBS service providers to rollout expanded High Definition Television (HDTV) programming.
The new product for DirecTV is capable of receiving signals from up to five satellites and enables reception of video programming broadcast in both the Ka-band and the Ku-band. The new Echostar product receives signals from three Ku-band satellites and has an auxiliary port to accommodate programming from an additional satellite....
