I just recieved a phone call from a guy with a very strong accent saying he was from DISH and wanted to offer me HBO for half price, and that was they only thing he asked. Has anyone else received a call like this, or was he fishing for credit card numbers?
Yeah i would say my first guess is someone fishing for account info.
But it really depends on what you guys talked about it.
Did he say anything like
"We can add HBO for you half price, i just need to find your account can you give me your account number or receiver number"
I personally never bother with outbound calls unless the agent already has my info on there screen. If there asking for help finding my account then they dont work at Dish.
No he did not ask for any info. I was quick to tell him I was not interested in the deal, so he said thank-you and have a nice day. I wonder if I would have said yes, if he would have asked for a credit card or something, thats why I was wondering if anyone else got this call if it was legit.
Back when they were offering HBO free for 3 months i got a call from dish network. They asked if I was the account holder, told me I was elgible for the offer and gave me the warning that I needed to cancel after 3 months or they would start billing. I said sure why not, they said that my channels would be available in 10 mins and reminded to to cancel before any charges would appear.
